Portland State student Kevin Ping, 21 years old, went missing on Tuesday morning. He was last seen in his Beaverton home, and has not made contact since Oct. 28. Ping left behind apologetic letters on his computer for family and friends, according to an email sent by Ping’s friend, Kara Thibault.
Ping may be driving his parent’s missing silver Toyota Prius, with the license plate number 380GJJ. His cell phone has not been turned on since 7 a.m. on Wednesday, which was last tracked near Wilsonville, Oregon.
“[Ping] is an incredibly smart, well-liked and well-respected person,” Thibault said. “This act does not coincide with [Ping’s] character nor is this in anyway typical behavior from such an outwardly friendly character. His friends and family desperately want him home and want him safe.”
Ping’s family has filed a missing person’s report. Anyone with information on Ping’s location is encouraged to contact local law enforcement.
