Nearly $5,000 worth of audio-visual equipment was stolen from Hoffman Hall Wednesday afternoon.
The building’s outside locks were not broken, but cabinets containing the two stolen computers, DVD player and various computer accessories had been broken into.
The thefts happened between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., said Mark Walker, the technology classrooms support manager. He received a call around 6 p.m. from an AV staff member who informed him that the equipment was missing.
Locks were changed in the hall Thursday, and temporary equipment will be moved in and out of the hall before and after each class until winter break.
The audio-visual office estimates that $1,000?”$2,000 worth of damage was caused by the break-in.
PSU has no plans to replace the equipment until more is known about the incident.
The office of Audio Visual Services is working with Campus Public Safety office to determine who was involved in the crime and hopefully regain the stolen equipment. Campus Security has not yet released a police report and declined to comment on the ongoing investigation.
