Red Cross on campus today
A Red Cross blood drive will be held at Portland State University, Smith Memorial Center Ballroom on Wednesday, Oct. 17, from 11-4 p.m.
The Red Cross continues to need blood donors to maintain their supply. Donors must be 17 or older, weigh at least 105 pounds and be in good general health. Appointments can be scheduled with Franzi Herman by calling 503-725-5184.
Hot Lips Pizza sponsors fundraiser
On Saturday, Oct. 20 Hot Lips Pizza will be donating all of their profits to the farmer’s market of New York City. The farmer’s market of Wall Street was leveled in the Sept. 11 attacks and all revenue from sales this Saturday will go to supporting and restarting it. Hot Lips Pizza is located at 1909 S.W. Ex-Senator Hatfield to lead forum
On Wednesday, Oct. 17, Portland State will host a distinguished panel to discuss the issues related to the attacks on the World Trade Center. The panel will be led by retired U.S. Senator Mark O.
Hatfield, and includes Executive Director of the ACLU of Oregon David Fidanque, and Director of Portland State’s Conflict Resolution program and Chair of Philosophy, Robert Gould. Phyllis Edmundson, dean of the Graduate School of Education, will moderate the event. Bruce Gagnon to lecture in Portland
On Oct. 19 Bruce Gagnon, leader of the Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space, will be speaking at the First Unitarian Church, located at the corner of Main Street and Southwest 12th. The event will be from 7-9 p.m. and will cover information from unclassified Pentagon documents.
