When I saw Tender Forever she was endearing and fun, but her music came across as too cute for me to really like. Her second album for K Records comes close to the above description, and while lyrics like “This bed is too nice, I want to kiss your eyes” cause me cute-overload, these moments are few and far between.

Portland-area residents came out in droves dressed as members of the undead for Portland’s third annual Zombie Walk. Zombie participants lurched their way from Pioneer Courthouse Square through downtown for the event, looking to feast on brains as they made their way towards Chinatown.

Death is fun!
In Mexico, since ancient times, the dead have been celebrated on Dia de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead. The dead are believed to return to their homes and be able to partake of the pleasures of life for one day a year, much like the origins of Halloween in the United States (both are festivals for children). In Mexican culture however, the celebration of the dead is much less scary than Halloween and much more festive.

SFC cancels annual student stipend raises
Students who have held student stipend jobs for more than a year will not get a 5 percent increase to their salaries this year, after the Student Fee Committee (SFC) voted 3-1-1 against the increases Friday.
