To teach or not to teach sex education

People are having sex. And as long as that is happening, there is a risk of pregnancy, STDs and a wealth of other problems, both physical and emotional, which go hand-in-hand with sexual activity. On May 18, the Senate took a step in educating youth on these consequences.

Keeping the skin

Once again Mayor Sam Adams has come under fire. And this time it’s actually for a legitimate issue! Adams’ goal to tear down the Rose Quarter’s decaying Memorial Coliseum has spurred a wealth of controversy.

Max out?

A large percentage of students at PSU commute to school from one area or another outside of downtown—be it Beaverton, Tigard, Vancouver, etc. For those students, such as myself, who have to commute from Washington, the Columbia River Crossing has been an issue for quite some time.

Use your voice

Elections for the ASPSU begin May 4. Are you ready? If the answer is no, you are not alone. Many students at PSU are not even aware of the elections, let alone any of the details, such as the candidates or the issues.

Investment machinations

For those students fortunate enough to have parents that can afford to invest in our college future, a lot depends on those funds to get us through our duration as students. If a parent squanders the money, or makes a bad investment, a student could be, for lack of better words, screwed out of an education.

“Made in Oregon” sign should stay the same

The “Made in Oregon” sign that has become a landmark for the Willamette waterfront may have inhaled its last neon breath. The University of Oregon’s plans to change the sign, which they now own along with the building it sits on, have citizens of Portland fuming.
