London is viewed by many as a city of historical greatness, cultural significance or perhaps even an amorous getaway. But underneath the romantic façade, is a much darker scene where another side of the city lives and operates.

Portland boasts a number of attractive qualities. Natives love to tout the fact that in the morning one can wake up in the midst of an urban haven of beer, music and culture, and by the end of the day rest their head in the easily accessible wilderness, or perhaps Pacific beach, just within reach of the city.

Summer brings warm weather, bathing suits, sunshine and outdoor fun—for some. For the rest of us, it is the dawning of a new television season bearing a mix of shows that recycle premises, cake in witty banter and give us something to do while maintaining a healthy, pale skin tone.

Like many fellow students, the prospect of graduation has finally come to resemble something obtainable. For some time now, I have considered such a conclusion to the years spent at Portland State a sort of myth—a reward meant to motivate students, yet so far away it seemed unreachable.

Portland State is a diverse campus with a wide-ranging student population. This year’s graduating classes reflects that diversity.

Various entertainers from musicians to magicians use what is referred to as a “press kit” to promote themselves in search of gigs.

For years it has been impressed upon students the value of a college degree, and now there’s proof to back it up—however, the news may be bittersweet to some.

Lovers of whiskey come to know the treasures of their area. The little secrets that come in the form of pubs, bars or other places where one can find that unique bottle, the special tasting or well-crafted flight.

We all love our mothers to some degree. After all, they are mostly responsible for us all being here. Sorry dads—we appreciate all your hard work too, but you didn’t have to lug us around for months on end, and endure all that is pregnancy and childbirth.
