Athelete of the Week: Garyn Schlatter

Redshirt freshman setter Garyn Schlatter was named Big Sky Conference volleyball Player of the Week on Monday, after posting Portland State’s first triple-double since 2007 in last Friday’s match against Northern Colorado.

Portland State women’s volleyball earned a straight-set  victory Wednesday in the exhibition match over Trinity Western at the Stott Center, 3-0.

Volleyball Club hits the net

Men’s volleyball is a new student rec club that came together in January of this year, and club members are looking forward to next year, when they aim to become competitive at an intercollegiate level.

From the court to the field

Julius Thomas finished out his last year of basketball eligibility this year, but decided not to end his sports career. The senior basketball forward is currently playing spring football as a tight end and has hopes to hit the field in the regular fall season.

Know your crew

The Portland State Crew Club has just two more regattas before they take the boats off the water.  Crew, an active club sport that involves rowing practices three times a week before the sun comes up, is what second-year team member and current club president Cassy Whitaker describes as “the ultimate team sport.”

PSU says goodbye to basketball stars

The past four years have been eventful for Portland State’s basketball programs, but as the college careers of Claire Faucher and Dominic Waters come to an end it’s time for fans and teammates to say goodbye to two student-athletes that have dominated the court.
