CORVALLIS–PSU Student Body President Rudy Soto skirted questions Friday about whether he planned to withhold more than $100,000 that student government would contribute to the Oregon Student Association next year, after a discussion about his proposal to alter the organization’s internal structure.
A week full of indecision and confusion has left the election results for next year at a standstill. The Judicial Board voted Thursday to accept an appeal that contested the validity of the April 20 Elections Board decision to validate all of the ASPSU election results.
The student fee could be raised by as much as 46 percent over the $167-per-term fee each student was charged for the 2006-07 school year. Some Student Fee Committee (SFC) members were apprehensive about raising the student fee at all, which increased by 25 percent from the 2005-06 school year to this year after being stagnant for nearly three years.
