Business school to host international conference

The School of Business Administration at Portland State is hosting a two-day conference starting Thursday in recognition of its new Center for Design and Innovation for Business and Sustainability.

The School of Business Administration at Portland State is hosting a two-day conference starting Thursday in recognition of its new Center for Design and Innovation for Business and Sustainability. Keynote speakers at the event will discuss sustainable business practices. Jenette Ramos, manager of Boeing Portland, and Janelle Kearsley, director of corporate strategy and sustainability for Wal-Mart, will be present to discuss sustainability among large companies and chain stores, respectively. PSU Accounting Professor H. Thomas Johnson will also speak at the conference. The cost of registration is $200 for government, nonprofit and academic researchers, and $300 for industry researchers. Though the free student registration is full, interested students may still be able to attend with a valid PSU ID in case of absent registrants. The event begins at 7 a.m. on Nov. 1 at the Portland Art Museum (1219 S.W. Park Ave.) The second day of the conference will be held at Hilton Portland & Executive Tower (921 S.W. Sixth Ave.)
