Candidates for SALP director start visits this week
Portland State is hosting question and answer sessions with four candidates for director of Student Activities and Leadership Programs, to fill the position after the departure of former SALP Director Tonantzin Oceguera last July.
The four candidates are scheduled to meet with students, beginning this Friday and ending next week, to discuss what they would do as SALP director as well as address any questions or concerns students may have. SALP oversees over 200 student groups at PSU.
The candidates
Francisco Chanon Friday, Feb. 22, SMSU 333Lunch with students – 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.Presentation with Q&A – 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Francisco Chanon previously held the positions of director of student activities at the University of Southern Colorado and associate director of the University of Utah’s A. Ray Olpin university union. Most recently, Chanon served as interim student affairs coordinator at the University of Oregon School of Law.

Shannon Timm has nine years of experience in various aspects of student affairs from five universities. Timm was assistant director of housing and residential education at the University of Denver, and resident life coordinator of housing and dining services at Humboldt State University. She is currently a SALP adviser.

Aimee Shattuck is the current interim director of SALP. She was previously the coordinator of the Women’s Resource Center on campus, in addition to working in local outreach organizations.

Randall Radcliff has worked as assistant unit manager and student internship coordinator for Tralin Investment Group, and LLC associate director of California State University’s associated students incorporated. Radcliff has also been a board member on both Oregon State University’s Memorial Union Board and the Native American and Black Cultural Center advisory board. He is currently evening services coordinator and student support services academic adviser at Mt. Hood Community College.
