An unknown suspect in West Hall student housing stole a student’s cell phone. The phone has not been recovered.
Feb. 2, 20078:19 p.m.–TrespassingParking Structure 3 — 1631 S.W. 12th Ave.
Two non-students were cited with trespassing when they parked their RV in the parking structure. The officer was suspicious and searched the RV, finding garbage with unused syringes, cotton balls and other suspicious items. The pair was released with a citation and arrest warning if they return to the property.
Feb. 3, 200712:48 a.m.– Aggravated assault, menacing, unlawful use of a weaponOndine Housing — 1912 S.W. 6th Ave.
A student threatened three other students in the Ondine residential housing with a kitchen knife. An uninvolved student later told officers that the suspect wished to become romantically involved with another resident’s girlfriend, which led to him threatening them with a knife. No more information is known and the incident is still under investigation.
Feb. 4, 20076:08 p.m. — TrespassingSmith Memorial Student Union — 1825 S.W. Broadway
A non-student was cited for criminal trespassing after locking himself in a single occupancy restroom with open bottles of alcohol. An officer noticed the door was locked for a longer than usual time and investigated. The officer smelled an odor of alcohol coming from the restroom and unlocked the door finding the drunken man.
Feb. 5, 20079:48 a.m.– Destruction/damage/vandalism of propertyMontgomery Building — 1802 S.W. 10th Ave.
An inner panel was damaged from inside a Millar Library owned vehicle parked outside of the Montgomery building. The library is unsure if an employee caused the damage or not.
4:31 p.m.-Theft from motor vehicleParking Structure 3 – 1631 S.W. 12th Ave.
A stereo, compact discs, a rear cargo cover, a pill bottle full of quarters and a flashlight were stolen from a student’s vehicle. Officers retrieved fingerprints, but nothing further is known at this time.
5:29 p.m.-Theft from buildingMillar Library – 1875 S.W. Park
A student’s laptop was stolen from the first floor of the library when they left it alone for 15 minutes to print a document. There were no witnesses and the case is still under investigation.
