Fake ID

Two male students living in College Housing Northwest residences were arrested for forgery of false identification cards just before midnight April 22. Arrested were David I. Belais, 20, and Charles Haselwood, 22.

The exact nature of the IDs being forged has not been released, pending further investigation. There was also a charge of selling false IDs.

Both students were cited and released.

Smoke screen

Gavin Lee Haworth, 20, a student, got a ride to jail at 1:30 a.m. April 24. He was cited for harassment of a female resident of a College Housing Northwest residence hall.

The woman called CPSO when Haworth apparently persisted in blowing cigarette smoke under her room door and into her apartment. Officers reported he appeared to be intoxicated.

Fisticuffs

:A fight between two males broke out in a College Housing Northwest apartment about 4 a.m. April 26. One was a resident, the other lives off campus.

Robert J. Hagel, 34, the resident, tangled with Devon A. Berliner, 21. Both were cited for assault and both said they would press charges against the other. They were released.

A probation violation related to a charge of domestic violence resulted in a trip to the Multnomah County Detention Center for Mohammed Rahman, 31.

Officers encountered Rahman in Smith Memorial Student Union at 12:30 p.m. April 27, on information that Rahman may have been in violation of the PSU building code.

Spirited away

A loss of $4,010 was reported when a gym bag and hockey equipment were taken from a 1991 Mazda parked on the first floor of Parking Structure Three. The theft occurred about 3 a.m. April 8.

Another big loss, $1,110, resulted when an unattended purse was taken from the Vanport Room in Smith Memorial Student Union at 3:30 p.m. April 28.

Parking Structure Three was the location of a theft from a 2001 Honda at 9 p.m. April 22. A CD player and 10 CDs were taken, with a value of $250.

The thief gained admission by breaking the passenger-side rear window. The trunk also was standing open.

The owner of an unattended bag discovered a wallet that had been inside was missing at 5 p.m. April 22. The incident occurred at Millar Library, and the owner believed the wallet had been stolen. The loss was $30.

The owner of a purse and contents left unattended in a lab in Neuberger Hall on April 23 lost $155 to a thief. The theft occurred about 1:30 p.m.

A bicycle and two locks worth $950 were taken from the bike rack on the north side of Peter Stott Center about 8:30 a.m. April 24.

Motor mishaps

A green Astro van driving in the wrong lane on the second floor of Parking Structure Three caused the driver of an oncoming vehicle to swerve and strike a pillar. The van drove off without stopping.

The incident occurred at 12:30 p.m. April 21. There was no estimate of damage.

On April 24 about 10 a.m. someone inflicted a 20-inch long scratch on the driver’s side door of a 2002 auto parked in Parking Structure Two.
