At 9:46 a.m. Officer Jared Schuurmans received a report from a student who stated her vehicle was broken into sometime between 11 a.m. on Oct. 20, and 9:46 a.m. on Oct. 21. No further information.

Officer Denae Murphy contacted non-student Alejandro Jesus Gonzalez-Martinez at 2:51 p.m. because he was asking people to sign a petition, but had no badges or uniform to indicate he was a legitimate signature gatherer. Gonzalez-Martinez was issued Portland State exclusion.

At 8:07 p.m. Officer Murphy received a report from a student who stated her MacBook Pro had been stolen, and the last place she remembered seeing it was at the above location.

University Place

Sergeant Michael Anderson and Officer Murphy were contacted by non-student Scott Reeves, who was staggering and appeared to be under the influence of methamphetamine, at 8:49 p.m. A consent search of Reeves located methamphetamine in his bag, and he was taken into custody. A search of Reeves’ wallet at the jail located a small amount of marijuana. He was lodged at Multnomah County Detention Center for unlawful possession of methamphetamine and possession of less than one ounce marijuana.

Officer Schuurmans responded to a report of a subject sleeping in the university president’s parking space. Upon contact, the subject was identified as non-student Clarence M. Jones III, who had a current PSU exclusion. Jones was arrested for criminal trespass II, issued a new PSU exclusion, and lodged at Multnomah County Detention Center.

At 5:28 p.m. Officer David Baker received a report from a student that the rear passenger window on the driver’s side of his vehicle was broken, and that several items were taken sometime between 2:30 and 5:08 p.m. One of the items was later recovered on the south stairwell.

Sergeant Anderson received a report at 7:04 p.m. from a student that the front passenger side window was broken on the victim’s car, and that a diaper bag was stolen sometime between 9:15 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. The diaper bag was later recovered in the southwest stairwell.

At 4:03 a.m. Officer Chris Fischer contacted and spoke with non-students Tyler Rhines and Axel Hanson. Hanson was discovered to have an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and was arrested on said warrant. He was lodged at Multnomah County Detention Center.

Officer Brenton Chose received a report at 7 p.m. from a student who stated a window on their vehicle was smashed and that the vehicle’s registration, insurance card and a phone charger were stolen from the glove box between 5:30 and 7 p.m.

At 9:50 p.m. Officer Chose and Officer Peter Ward responded to a report of a suspicious and possibly intoxicated male subject yelling rude and racist things in above area. Officers contacted non-student Michael Wayne Lee who declined to speak with the officers and walked away. Officers contacted Lee again 30 minutes later in the Urban Plaza because of Lee talking loudly to himself. Lee again declined to speak with officers and walked away. No further information.

Broadway Housing Building, northwest stairwell

At 3 a.m. Officer Brian Rominger contacted a student for urinating off the east side of the stairwell. The student emitted a strong odor of marijuana, and a consent search of the student’s person located a plastic package containing marijuana and a metallic grinder with marijuana residue. These items were seized; the student was issued a property receipt and advised that a report would be forwarded to the Dean of Student Life.

Officer Nichola Higbee responded to a theft report made at 9 a.m. by non-student Myrron Willie, who stated the rear passenger window of his vehicle was shattered and a custom Oakley backpack was stolen sometime between Oct. 24 at 11 p.m. and Oct. 25 at 9 a.m.

Burglary

Neuberger Hall, room 85K

At 11:15 a.m. Officer Gary Smeltzer received a report from a student who stated two camcorders were left in the above room to charge and that the room was secured upon her leaving at 6 p.m. on Oct. 24. When the student returned on Oct. 25 at 10 a.m., both the camcorders were missing, although the room was still secured and there were no obvious signs of forced entry.

Officers Chose, Higbee, and Ward responded to a report of a former PSU graduate being disruptive and who refused to leave. The subject would only give her name and her age. Officer Ward accompanied her to the Financial Assistance Office in Neuberger Hall, where her appointment with them was confirmed.

Officer Rominger and Officer Jon Buck responded to a report of an older white male acting aggressively toward students sitting on a bench at 11:39 p.m. Officers contacted non-student Richard Allen Long and warned him about his behavior.

Narcotics information: marijuana

Ondine Residence Hall

At 1:16 a.m. Officers Rominger and Buck responded to a report of marijuana odor coming from a student’s room. Five students were contacted in the room and all denied possessing or smoking marijuana. The student who lives in the room was uncooperative and denied consent to enter. The report was forwarded to the dean of Student Life and Housing.

Officers Chose and Murphy responded to a report of a suspicious female loudly using foul language. They discovered her to be the same subject from a call regarding the same type of activity one hour prior, who they had been unable to locate at the time. Officers contacted non-student Laura Stevens and issued her a PSU exclusion. Stevens then walked over to the Urban Plaza and sat down. Stevens was advised the plaza was PSU property as well, and she left the area without further incident.

At 8:39 p.m. Officer Ward assisted with a student who was removed from the OK GO concert because of severe intoxication. The student was transported to the detox center.

At 2:50 p.m. Officer Ward responded to a report of marijuana use and contacted the resident, who declined the request to search the room.

Officer Fischer contacted non-student James Corpuz, who was attempting to gain access to Smith Memorial Student Union in order to find a place to sleep. Corpuz was issued a PSU exclusion.

At 9:54 a.m. Officer Schuurmans responded to a report of two male subjects loitering near the bicycle storage shed. Schuurmans contacted non-students Thomas O. Ballard and Christopher M. Hubbard, and Ballard was found to have a pair of professional wire cutters on his person. PSU exclusions were issued to both.

Officer Schuurmans responded to a report of a student being aggressive with a professor at 12:27 p.m. Schuurmans contacted the faculty member, who stated that a student had become verbally aggressive and taken an aggressive stance toward her. The student was asked to leave the class for the day and a report was forwarded to the dean of Student Life.

At 8:52 p.m. Sergeant Anderson contacted non-student Carson Meyrick, who had been previously excluded, sleeping in the above area. When Meyrick was taken into custody for trespass, he admitted to using drugs and that there would be needles in his backpack. A search of his backpack located dirty cookers, needles and marijuana. Meyrick was lodged at Multnomah County Detention Center for criminal trespass II and unlawful possession of heroin.

Sergeant Anderson responded to Ondine for a report of marijuana odor coming from one of the rooms at 11:33 p.m. Upon arrival, Anderson contacted the student and seized a marijuana cigarette. The student admitted to smoking marijuana in the room. The report was forwarded to Resident Life and the dean of Student Life. Marijuana was seized and destroyed.

Officer Fischer responded to a report from a student who stated his boyfriend would not leave after an argument. The boyfriend was found to not be on the lease and was taken to a local motel. No further information.
