Swiped stuff

A secured bicycle was taken from a bike rack near Smith Memorial Student Union about 7:45 a.m. July 7. It was valued at $260.

Another secured bicycle valued at $175 was stolen from the same rack on the same day at about 4 p.m.

An unknown means of entry was used to steal a stereo valued at $150 from a vehicle in Parking Structure 1 about 11:30 a.m. July 7. The dashboard was also damaged.

The information booth in Smith Memorial Student Union gave up a computer monitor to a thief at about 1:45 p.m. July 14. The equipment was unattended at the time. The value was set at $400.

A wallet left unattended on a table in Millar Library was taken about 1:45 p.m. July 14. The loss was $76.

Snoozer streeted

Larry Winkelpleck, 35, was awakened by a Smith Memorial Student Union employee as he slept in the building at 8:30 a.m. July 8. When officers arrived, he became argumentative, refusing to leave the building.

He had previously been excluded from the building by PSU staff. He was cited for trespassing, released and told to leave the building.

Rest disturbed

Lying on a sidewalk on campus proved the undoing of Russell White, 46. Officers encountered him at 10 p.m. July 8 and discovered he had an outstanding warrant for felony parole violation. He was escorted to jail.

Burglar thwarted

A motion alarm set off just before 7 a.m. July 13 brought officers to a fourth-floor classroom in Neuberger Hall used for distance learning TV services. They found possible screwdriver impressions on the door near the lock but no sign of entry and nothing missing.
