Ripped off

At about noon, Nov. 4, a bicycle worth $475 was forcibly removed from a bike rack on campus.

Another bike worth $700 was forcibly stolen from a rack near the Education-Business Administration building about noon, Nov. 8.

A locked office in Smith Memorial Student Union yielded a digital camera to a thief who forced entry. The theft occurred about 7 p.m. Nov. 3. There was no estimate of value.

A wallet was taken from an unsecured office open to the public in Smith Memorial Student Union about 9 a.m. Nov. 5. The loss was $116.

Housing hijinks

At 9 p.m. Nov. 4, a resident of university housing reported to officers that a subject was peeking into the apartment window. The suspect had vanished when officers arrived.

A complaint of excessive noise in a university housing facility brought officers to the scene at 1 a.m. Nov. 6. The subjects were advised to quiet down, and they complied.

About midnight on Nov. 5, Campus Public Safety received a report of a marijuana smell coming from a room in university housing. The complaint led to no citations.

A swastika appeared on a wall in university housing at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 7. No perpetrator was discovered.

At about 4 p.m. Nov. 10, officers responded to a complaint of an object being thrown from an apartment window in university housing. The alleged suspect was contacted and advised to desist.

Someone in a university housing facility pulled an alarm at a fire-alarm station on the third floor of the building at about 11 p.m. Nov. 10. There was no evidence of fire.

Careless capers

Someone left a window propped open in a secured and alarmed area in Shattuck Hall on Nov. 7. Officers shut and secured the window.

A fire alarm was set off in SMSU at 10 a.m. Nov. 7. A burnt bagel was discovered to be the culprit. There was no property damage.

Collared

A warrant for an escape from Lake County tripped up Brian K. Waterman, 30. He was apprehended near Cramer Hall at 2 a.m. Nov. 6 and transported to the Multnomah County Detention Center.

At 8:45 a.m., Nov. 8, Robert Hibbert, 34, was discovered trying to unhook a computer monitor in Neuberger Hall. He was cited for criminal trespass and released.
