Feb. 10

Arrest
Smith Memorial Student Union
At 9:04 p.m. Officer David Troppe and Officer David Baker contacted non-student Jonathon Derito who had been previously excluded from Portland State and arrested for trespass, on the second floor. Derito was arrested for criminal trespass II and lodged at Multnomah County Detention Center.

Feb. 11

Arrest
Bike Hub
Officers Troppe and Baker observed two male subjects outside the Bike Hub, one of whom was observed dropping a baggie of methamphetamine in his backpack. This subject was contacted and identified as non-student Jacob Ryan Clements. Clements also was found to have in his backpack a bolt cutter, bike parts, an iPod registered to someone else and a container with heroin residue; Clements also had been previously excluded from PSU. Clements was arrested for criminal trespass II, unlawful possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of heroin, and was lodged at Multnomah County Detention Center.

Feb. 12

Exclusion
University Center Building
At 2:06 a.m. Officer Chris Fischer issued a PSU exclusion to non-student Ronald Brown for sleeping and then urinating on campus.

Student Conduct
Science Building One
Officer Fischer responded to above area at 5:18 a.m. after hearing the Portland Police Bureau being dispatched to a fight in progress where a black male was reportedly standing over a white male. Upon arrival, Officer Fischer determined there was no fight and contacted a PSU student who stated he was intoxicated and had fallen. Student denied medical attention for the bruise on his head and also declined to follow instructions by Officer Fischer and PPB and was subsequently transported to detox by PPB. Report forwarded to Dean of Student Life and CARE team.

Urban Plaza
At 1:03 p.m. Officer Nichola Higbee received a theft report from non-student Christopher Khatami who stated he left his bike secured with a cable lock at the bike rack next to the PSU bookstore on Feb. 7 due to the snow storm. When he returned for his bike on Feb. 9 at 4 p.m. his bike, a silver and black Schwinn Ranger 2.6, was gone.

Officer James Dewey and Officer Gary Smeltzer received a report at 9:40 a.m. from a faculty member who stated her bicycle, which had been locked up, had been tampered with on Feb. 11 and at least two items had been stolen off the bike—a red LED light and the bike seat.

At 11:48 a.m. Officers Dewey and Smeltzer received a theft report from a student who stated a Dremel tool, a roll of drafting paper and a bottle of prescription medication were stolen on Feb. 11 from a locked storage locker.

Feb. 13

Arrest
Peter Stott Center
Officers Dewey and Smeltzer were patrolling in the above area at 10:32 a.m. when Officer Smeltzer recognized non-student Gregory R. Percival, who had been previously excluded from PSU. Officers contacted Percival, confirmed his identity and were advised by dispatch that Percival had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. Percival was arrested on said warrants and lodged at Multnomah County Detention Center.

At 7:42 p.m. Sergeant Joe Schilling and other Campus Public Safety Officers responded to a report of a female barricading herself in the women’s restroom to avoid an ex-boyfriend. Upon arrival, officers contacted a female PSU student and non-student Thomas Gilardi. Investigation concluded no interpersonal violence had occurred. However, the PSU student was arrested and lodged at Multnomah County Detention Center for attempted unlawful possession of methamphetamine and Gilardi was issued a PSU exclusion.

Feb. 14

Theft
Academic and Student Rec Center
Officer Jon Buck received a theft report at 10 p.m. from a student. The student’s backpack was left in an unsecured locker in the third floor locker area between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. and was stolen. The backpack contained miscellaneous items valued at about $221.

Engineering Building
At 6:19 p.m. Officer Brian Rominger and Officer Brenton Chose contacted and issued a PSU exclusion to non-student Dale Preston for sleeping in the handicap stall of the first floor men’s restroom.

Officer Dewey received a report from an unknown subject who stated a laptop-carrying bag containing a Dell laptop and wireless mouse was left in the computer lab and stolen between 9:30 and 10:20 p.m.

Feb. 15

Cramer Hall
Officer Higbee received a report from a PSU staff member that between 9:40 and 10 a.m., while he was in the copy room, his cell phone was stolen from office 217K.

At 12:11 p.m. Officer Dewey received a theft report from a student who stated the bike she rented from the Bike Hub was stolen from in front of the student’s apartment building between 1 p.m. on Feb. 14 and 8 a.m. on Feb. 15. Only the front tire of the bike was left U-locked to the bike stand where the bike had been secured.

Officer Denae Murphy received a report at 7:14 p.m. of a student’s backpack, with nothing of value inside, being stolen when left unattended between 6:20 and 7 p.m. The backpack itself was worth $400.

Exclusion
Ondine residence hall
At 10:32 p.m. Officers Fischer and Chose and Sergeant Robert McLeary responded to a request from Ondine’s resident assistant to check on a male subject sleeping in the building. Sergeant McLeary located the subject, non-student Reggie Watkins Sr., on the second floor. Watkins Sr. was found to have no reason for being inside the building other than sleeping and was issued a PSU exclusion. He then exited the building.

Officers Buck and Murphy were dispatched to a report of a male subject sleeping under a desk with his shoes off in the fourth floor quiet study lounge. Officers contacted non-student David A. Sankey, who had a current PSU exclusion. Sankey was arrested and lodged at Multnomah County Detention Center for criminal trespass II.

Cramer Hall
Officer Gregory Marks received a report from an unknown subject who stated that his unattended laptop and backpack were stolen from the north side study area on the second floor. No further information available.

Broadway residence hall
At 3:05 p.m. Officer Murphy received a theft report from a student who stated that his black 64 GB iPad Mini was stolen from the computer lab when he left it charging near the window at 5:45 p.m. on Feb. 14. The student didn’t realize his iPad was stolen until Feb. 15.
