A university administration must warn students about any potential harm swiftly and immediately.
The PSU administration dangerously compromised student safety when they waited two and a half hours to inform students, staff and faculty of a bomb threat yesterday.
The administration said they realized that the threat was not critical shortly after the threat was discovered. Critical or not, the people who make up Portland State must be informed of any potential danger at the university immediately after it is known, so that information may be used to make a choice: Should I avoid PSU?
The process of determining the legitimacy of the threat was efficient and good. The late dispersal of information to the rest of PSU was dangerous and inconsiderate.
