The Portland State University Student Union (PSUSU) is presenting Campus Security: Why They’re Armed and What’s Weird About It at the PSU Multicultural Center, on Tuesday, November 10th from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. The presentation will explore why the #DisarmPSU campaign has focused its attention on race issues, and why it continues to criticize the administration and board of trustee’s position on arming and deputizing the Campus Public Safety Office. Audience members will have an opportunity to participate in the conversation. This will be the first event in a series PSUSU is planning to help broaden community perspectives on the related problems of police brutality, financial exploitation and public scapegoating.
