Andy Baxter and Kyle Jahnke make up Penny & Sparrow, a singer-songwriter duo hailing from Austin, TX. The two met in college and started playing music as a hobby. Now three albums into their career, they’ve perfected a hauntingly beautiful and simple folk sound. Their most recent LP Let A Lover Drown You, which was recorded in Florence, AL with John Paul White (The Civil Wars) and Ben Tanner (Alabama Shakes), references influences that range from Bon Iver to Les Miserables. The duo’s cutting, contemplative songs and soaring harmonies alongside an acoustic guitar have been known to render audiences silent for an entire set.
