Join author and founder of Portland Youth Poet Laureate Project S. Renee Mitchell, literary agent DongWon Song, and Multnomah County librarian Alicia Tate to discuss diversity and inclusion in young adult and children’s literature and publishing. How does the industry treat writers of color? What does it mean to be a nonwhite publisher, writer, or reader of children’s literature? How can we measure representation? How can we expand it, and why is it so important to do so in children’s and YA publishing?
This panel discussion will be moderated by Brian Parker, cofounder of Believe in Wonder Publishing and graduate of PSU’s Book Publishing program.
The event is free and open to the public.
