The Reverend Horton Heat for five bucks? You better believe it! I don’t think he’s been this cheap since I caught him wailing at an impromptu performance on the Ave. in Seattle’s U-District 10 years ago and he’s still rockin’.

Next Thursday, July 19, “the Rev,” as he is affectionately known to the rockabilly legions, will rock the Roseland at Northwest Sixth and Burnside for two shows.

The early show is all ages and features local blues rockers The Natrons and mod punks The Real Pills opening up. The second, 21 and over only show, will be kicked off by country rockers Bare Jr.

For rockabilly freaks, this is a must go. For everybody else: five bucks is a steal.

The Rev’s been bustin’ out his psychobilly madness for over 20 years, honing his sound on the streets and in the garages and jailhouses of East Texas before going national in the 1990s. His clean-burning, whiskey-soaked sound is strong as ever, and even as the Rev ages he still sings about fast women, dirty drinks and hot rods.

There is a catch though, if you wanna see the Rev for five bucks you gotta get off your ass right now, cause if you wait til the day of the show it ‘s gonna set you back $17.
