Self-described talking head and political correspondent Juan Williams spoke to a large and eager crowd last night at the SMSU ballroom in honor of the upcoming Martin Luther King holiday.
"Martin Luther King took risks necessary to speak truth to power," Williams said.
Williams’ speech centered on people’s reluctance to get involved in the continuing civil rights movement. The Pulitzer-Prize-winning columnist related how a young Martin Luther King Jr. was initially reluctant to get involved in the now famous Montgomery, Ala., bus strike. Williams took time to sign books and shake hands after the event.
