Stars: Junior guard Benny Valentine, who is averaging 17.4 points this season, leads Eastern Washington. The Texas Tech transfer leads the conference in that department and provides a terrific matchup for Portland State senior point guard Jeremiah Dominguez.
The Vikings seem to rotate star performances and senior Andre Murray has been the star of late. Murray is averaging better than 13 points per game at home this season.
Just a taste: The Vikings enter Saturday night’s contest against the Eagles as winners of four of their last five, and hold a half game lead over Weber State for first place in the Big Sky Conference.
The Vikings have had just one game over the past 12 days, a 57-43 victory at Northern Colorado on Jan. 17. Eastern Washington has lost their last three games, including a double-digit loss to Montana at home on Jan. 21.
Last season the Eagles and Vikings split the season series with each team winning on their home floors in games decided by one and two points respectively.
