Miyake earns honors

Sophomore midfielder Kaite Miyake was named Big Sky co-MVP and Newcomer of the Year for soccer. She is the first player in conference history to sweep both awards.

Miyake splits the MVP title with NAU forward Sierra Cristiano. Miyake’s total points is a new school record at the Division I level.

Miyake is the second straight Viking to earn Newcomer of the Year. Miyake joins former goalie Gretchen Pietras, who earned Big Sky Newcomer in 2001.
