Beach Party in the Park
The Beach Party in the park will be in the South Park Blocks of campus on Friday Sept. 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The student development office encourages everyone on campus to attend. Over 70 student organization will be represented. have booths set up with information about their organizations. Noho’s Hawaiian Cafe will provide free lunch. There will also be prizes and activities throughout the day. This is a great opportunity for students to get involved on campus. Look on page nine for a full list of events.

Walk to school
Communities in all of Oregon and the nation will celebrate the fifth annual Walk to School Day on Tuesday, Oct. 2. Millions will walk to school to raise awareness about healthy lifestyles, driver awareness and build unity in the community. So leave your cars at home and walk to school next Tuesday. Remove your name from the student directory
Students who are also faculty and staff at Portland State University have a deadline for restricting their directory information by 5 p.m. Oct. 10, 2001. The students phone number will automatically be published in the Portland State University student directory if they do not restrict this information. Students must restrict their information every year in order for this restriction to be in effect. In order restrict directory information fill out a written request with the Office of the Registrar. New Energy Economics and Policy Program
Portland State’s new program in Applied Energy Economics and Policy (AEE) strives to meet the growing demand for qualified professionals to lead the way for energy efficient future. The program consists of four courses offered over four terms. Classes are expected to be held in the evenings twice a week. Classes began fall term but students can enroll in the fall, winter or spring. For more information on the program contact Patricia Koss 503-725-3942.
