Don’t take money for granted
If you are interested in administering research grants, or are already working with grant funds, you can attend a meeting and learn more. The meeting is the sixth annual chapter meeting of the Pacific Northwest Chapter and the Canadian Section of the Society of Research Administrators, working in conjunction with PSU. Faculty workshops to be offered
Free workshops for faculty organized by the Center For Academic Excellence, continue next week. On Monday, Feb. 18 the session will be “Poster Appeal for Conference Presentation,” taking place from one to 3 p.m. Tuesday morning begins with a “Civic Engagement Breakfast on Sustainability,” from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Later that afternoon it’s a journey into cyberspace with the topic “Simulation and Role Plays Using Chat Rooms,” from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 20 will bring “Audio Applications” from noon to 12:30 and Thursday will be the day to discuss “Race & Gender Equity,” from 3 to 5 p.m. To sign up and gather more details call the CAE at 503-725-5642.
Free computer classes
Also for faculty next week will be free computer classes provided by the Office of Information Technologies. Next week’s class is called “Introduction to Journal Vouchers.” It will take place on Feb. 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. Classes on Web design and more will take place the following week.
