Students celebrated the Chinese New Year last Saturday with traditional student performances. The Chinese Student and Scholars Association hosted the event, which took place in the Smith Memorial Student Union Ballroom.
This year marks the year of the rabbit, according to CSSA spokesperson Du Juan. Students from the CSSA, the Confucius Institute and the US Wushu center performed traditional Chinese dances, including a lion dance and a C-Pop (Chinese pop music) dance. There was also a Chinese fashion show.
