FOOTBALL
Single-game tickets go on sale this week

Single game football tickets for the upcoming season go on sale Monday. Tickets can be purchased at the PSU ticket office located at Southwest Fifth and Hall, at any TicketMaster outlet, or by calling 1-888-VIK-TIKS.

This is the first opportunity for Viking fans who do not purchase season tickets to get tickets for any football games. PSU has six home games this year and is returning to the newly-renovated PGE Park.

Single game tickets are $12.50 for adults, $10.25 for juniors, seniors and PSU faculty and staff. Prices for the Vanport Football Classic are $24.50 for adults and $15.75 for juniors and seniors.

The tickets also serve as a free pass on Tri-Met and the MAX line leading to PGE Park on the day of games. Fans are encouraged to take public transportation as parking is extremely limited around the venue.

TRACK & FIELD
Vikings coach named head coach at Goodwill Games

New hire Portland State track and field coach Tony Veney was named the head coach of the United States Women’s Track and Field squad which will compete at the Goodwill Games later this summer.

“I am very excited about being a part of the national team, especially at an event with such importance as the Goodwill Games,” Veney stated in a press release. “The games should get good exposure and it is being held at a great venue.”

The track and field portion of the Goodwill Games will be held September 4-7 at ANZ Stadium in Brisbane, Australia.

Invitations to the U.S. team will be given to Olympic and World Championship medalist and United State national champions. Among those athletes who will have the opportunity to compete on the United States women’s squad are Marion Jones, Gail Devers, Chryste Gaines, Inger Miller, Regina Jacobs, Marla Runyan, Amy Acuff and Stacy Dragila.
