PSU Students protest proposed smoking ban

Students Max Milligan and Romain Bonilla disagree with the proposed smoking ban by protesting and petitioning in the PSU park blocks. In an effort to garner signatures for their petition they gave out free cigarettes. The petition requests that if smoking is banned that the existing smoking shelters will be allowed to remain.

Bridge to Russia jazz concert

The Portand Khabarovsk Sister City Association brought artists from the PSU community together Oct. 27 for a benefit concert. Proceeds from the night went toward the cost of sending a delegation of musicians and students to Portland’s sister city this December. The musicians performed their new composition, the Amur Suite, for the first time.

Vikings clinch spot in playoffs with win over Weber State

After a tough loss and tie over the weekend, the women’s soccer team came back to beat Weber State 1-1 at Hillsboro Stadium. The win got them a spot in the BSC tournament and put them in first place in the conference. We spoke to players after both games to get a sense of the team as they head into their last regular season game and beyond.
