Things to do before you Financial Aid runs out

Tonight

‘Jaberwockey’

No longer offered on public TV late at night, Monty Python will forever remain one of th e funiest comedy troupes of all time. This 1977 film is just as wacky as any of their short skits, and tonight is the only chance you’ll have to see it on the big screen.

Hollywood Theatre, 4122 N.E. Sandy Blvd., $5.

Friday

‘Mothman Prophecies’ soundtrack release party

Portland’s psych-prog King Black Acid has long seemed more like an L.A. band than a Portland band, and they finally prove it by providing the soundtrack for this big-budget horror flick. Come out and try on a head trip.

Ohm, 31 N.W. 1st Ave., 9 p.m., $9, 21+ w/ID.

Saturday

Napalm Beach

This band was playing alongside Poison Idea at the Satyricon way back in the day. No surprises, no apologies. Come by for an eighties-style headpounding – you deserve it.

Ash Street Saloon, 225 S.W. Ash St. 10 p.m., $5, 21+ w/ID.

Sunday

The Commedia Pinocchio

Take the kids to see this classic, redone in the style of Italian Commedia del Arte. This musical version is based on the original Carlo Collodi story, written in 1883, and features costume work by local artisans. It promises to be nothing like the Disney version, and this is your last change to see it. Northwest Neighborhood Cultural Center, 1819 N.W. Everett St., 12 and 2 p.m., $6.
