Kevin Spacey may not have the physical attributes to really pull off Quoyle, this film’s passive protagonist, but he does a fair job nonetheless. He’s also one of the film’s most attractive actors, lending some honesty to this adaptation of the popular novel by E. Annie Proulx (who told the New York Times she loves the film – another reason to take it seriously).
