Riding another wave of post-mortem resurgence, “Walk the Line” swept the musical or comedy awards, leaving Hollywood bookies to speculate on which wrinkled musician’s death will prove fodder for next year’s critically acclaimed biopic.
On TV, Geena Davis won a statue for her unfortunately still ��(isn’t this 2006 for fuck’s sake?) risky choice to presume that a woman could run the country, and critics’ fascination with the catfight on Wisteria Lane continued with “Desperate Housewives” receiving best television musical or comedy.
Knowing that studio executives’ memories are as short as a goldfish’s and their imaginations extend only as far as last year’s box-office returns, next year will likely offer some of the lamest queer-themed content since “Will & Grace” hit the tube.
