Timely warning update

Portland State’s Campus Public Safety Office has identified the suspect in the offensive touching case that occurred on Feb. 25. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Timothy Clayton Webster for sex abuse in the third degree.

Webster is described as a 28-year-old white male with brown hair and brown eyes weighing 180 pounds and approximately 6 feet tall.

CPSO is asking the public to call their office at 503-725-4404 or the Portland Police Bureau if Webster is sighted. If you have any information regarding this case, please call CPSO.

CPSO issued an update to the original timely warning early the morning of March 7 naming Webster as the suspect in the case.

CPSO Chief Phil Zerzan said that CPSO has had frequent contact with Webster. He has been issued several exclusion orders from PSU and has been arrested by CPSO several times.

“Being able to identify Webster from his description shows a familiarity with our patrol area and campus,” Zerzan said.

Webster was most recently arrested by CPSO on an outstanding warrant and a trespass charge on Feb. 20.

The original timely warning stated that on Feb. 25 a female student reported being subjected to offensive touching on the north side of the Engineering Building, located at 1930 SW Fourth Ave.

The victim reported that a man came up to her and asked if she had a dollar. When the victim was reaching for a dollar to give to the suspect, he restrained her and rubbed against her while making sexually suggestive comments.
