The Vanguard won 20 awards at the Oregon Newspaper Publisher’s Association Collegiate Day last Friday.
Among the 20 awards, the Vanguard earned 10 first-place, nine second-place and one honorable mention. The Vanguard received the most first-place awards in the four-year, daily contest classification, which includes Oregon State and the University of Oregon.
The Oregon Daily Emerald from the University of Oregon received the highest honor with first place in the “General Excellence” category. However, the Oregon Daily Emerald only received four awards total.
Oregon State’s The Daily Barometer took home the most awards overall with 21 honors, including a sweep of the “Best Section” category, first place in “Best Design” and a second-place finish in “General Excellence.” Here is a look at the Vanguard’s honors:
