There are days when I’m standing in the rain fumbling with my plastic-bag-covered camera, trying to shoot a football game without soaking myself or my gear. There are days when I’m left waiting in the cold by some too-important-to-be-directly-reached photo subject who also happens to be too important to show up on time. But then; then there are days when the Opinion Editor walks over to my desk and asks me with a smirk if I could be troubled to go take some photos of kittens up for adoption. Why yes, in fact I think I can make time for that, let me check my schedule.
Yesterday was one of those latter days.
