Vice provost candidates to visit PSU

Two candidates applying for Portland State’s vice provost for Student Affairs position will be visiting campus Oct. 10-12.

Two candidates applying for Portland State’s vice provost for Student Affairs position will be visiting campus Oct. 10-12.

The first candidate, Dr. F. Neil Matthews, is vice chancellor of Student Life and Academic Services at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge. Matthews will meet with students on Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Smith Memorial Student Union (SMSU), Room 327 and on Thursday, Oct. 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in SMSU, Room 238.

Dr. Timothy W. Quinnan is vice president for Student Services and Enrollment Management at Stark State College, located in North Canton, Ohio.

Quinnan will appear Thursday, Oct. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and Friday, Oct. 12, from noon to 1 p.m. The events will be held in SMSU, Room 238.

The position oversees the Office of Academic Affairs and is in charge of admissions, registration and records, as well as tasks such as enrollment management. The position has been held in interim by PSU faculty member Dan Fortmiller since 2005.
