The Portland State University men’s basketball team will finish up this week with two more challenging road contests. With much success coming at Idaho State, the Vikings history shows no wins in Ogden against Weber State. Portland State will face Weber first on Thursday, then finish up on Saturday against Idaho State in Pocatello.
Without a win to show on the road this season, the Vikings have some hurdles to overcome on this road trip. Weber State shows an impressive 14-5 overall record, also remaining undefeated thus far in conference play at 4-0.
Weber guard Jermaine Boyette leads the Big Sky in scoring at 20.5 points per game and should be the main focus of practice this week for the Vikings’ defensive efforts. Portland State will attempt to slow down Weber’s offense as a whole, also leading the conference with 73 points per contest. Tip off is set for 6:05 p.m. Pacific Time.
On Saturday, the Vikings finish up the longest road trip of the season at Idaho State. Idaho State maintains a record of 2-2 in conference and 9-8 overall. The Vikings have won four of their last six games played in Pocatello.
Jeb Ivey, who is averaging 14.7 points per game, will lead his team back to the Bengal’s home floor, where last year the Vikings succeeded, 87-77.
Tip off is set for 6:05 p.m. Following this road swing, the Vikings will return home to host Montana at the Peter Stott Center.
