The men’s team had an extremely successful week, notching two wins against Big Sky foes Sacramento State and Northern Arizona. The 11-4 (3-0 Big Sky) Viks look ahead to a Saturday night date in Cheney, WA for a chance to extend their winning streak to eight.

The young Lady Vikings suffered another pair of setbacks last week with a close loss to San Jose State and a drubbing in Provo against BYU. The ladies return home to face Eastern Washington Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. with a chance to break their three-game losing streak.
Track and field
The men and women’s track and field teams will travel this week to compete in the BYU Winter Pentathlon/Heptathlon in Provo on Thursday. Immediately following the two-day event Portland State will have to muster strength to travel to the Dempsey Indoor Preview in Seattle on Saturday, Jan. 15.

Portland State (0-5 Pac-10, 0-8 overall) lost three times to D-1 schools last week, including shortcomings against Cal Poly, OSU and South Dakota State. They look ahead to a Thursday meet against Utah Valley State College and a chance to crack the win column.
