Tara Jane O’ Neil
is hard to describe but will be, most likely very interesting to see. She has worked with The Sonora Pine, Retsin and Rodan and like those groups crafts sonic soundscapes that linger in the background but also find their way into consciousness. It’s progressive, and not like anything you will often see in Portland.

Portland State’s TASO group is presenting Eric Overmyer’s “On The Verge,” a play about three, intrepid, female explorers moving through time, geography and the English language. Runs next weekend as well. Lincoln Hall, Rm. 7 at 8 pm.

MOE
Who needs Larry and Curly when you’ve Got moe? Moe, one of those very diverse bands that blends rock, blues, country, bluegrass and jazz, a la The Grateful Dead, will swing through Portland Oct. 5 at the Crystal Ballroom.
This is touted as their Ten Year Anniversary Tour, which they started Sept. 14 in Boston. Tickets to the all ages show can be purchased at the Crystal Ballroom’s ticket window, open noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, or through Ticketmaster.

This examination of a seemingly “normal” middle-class family, and what happens when one of its member’s secrets breaks the surface, avoids clich? and leaves the viewer in wonder of its simplicity.
