Though an entirely unexpected argument has emerged over time, unrelated to the thunderously crude content of the column itself, should the Vanguard even print The Rant & Rage, given its vulgar nature?
We live in a nation where free speech is boasted of proudly. Discourse of opinion is held in high regard. However, should some lines be drawn? Feathers are surely intended to be ruffled by the column’s design, but does The Rant & Rage breach the line of sarcasm and burlesque parody and enter a level of offensive tirade? Or do some people take the article entirely too seriously?
On the other hand, could there be a lack of public understanding between the concepts of “news” and “opinion?”
