Somis, Calif. – Portland State women’s golf squad is third out of five teams after one round of the Cal State Northridge Matador Spring Classic in Somis, Calif.
The Vikings shot a 331 in day one, just five strokes behind the leaders, Univ. of Portland and Cal State Northridge. Sacramento State is right behind the Vikings with a 332 and Cal State San Marcos shot an opening round of 359.
Taya Battistella shot a 77 in the opening round and is in second place, one shot behind the leader. Bobbi Dunn is tied for third after a 79 in the first round. Melissa O’Meara shot an 87, placing 15th and Lisa Zimmer is tied for 18th after shooting an 88.
The Matador Spring Classic concluded yesterday at the Saticoy Country Club, but the results were unavailable at press time.
