In the first semifinal, Michigan State will meet Connecticut at approximately 3 p.m. PST. The Spartans upset the tournament’s overall No.1 seed Louisville in a defensive struggle Sunday afternoon.
They will travel just 90 miles to compete at Detroit’s Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions of the NFL. Tom Izzo, head coach at Michigan State, will be leading the Spartans into their fourth Final Four appearance in 10 years.
In the second semifinal, North Carolina will meet Villanova. The Wildcats are making their first Final Four appearance since 1985, when they upset heavily favored Georgetown for the National Title.
North Carolina, led by a plethora of heralded players including returning Player of the Year Tyler Hansbrough, is making their 15th trip to the final weekend of the tournament. The Tar Heels and Villanova will tip off at approximately 5:40 p.m. PST.
