Vikings hit the road to take on Montanas

Coming off last weekend’s unexpected loss at home, the Portland State women’s basketball team  is ready to get back on track. The Vikings hit the highway today to take on Montana  in Missoula, and from there they head to Bozeman on Saturday to take on Montana State.

Vikings stung at home

The Portland State women’s basketball team fell to Sacramento State in front of a stunned Stott Center crowd on Friday. A game that began in favor of the Vikings, ended with a nail-biting finish before eventually ending with a Hornets win, 83–78.

Bring on the Hornets

A week after knocking off conference-leading Eastern Washington, Portland State is set to host Sacramento State tonight for the last game of a four-game home stretch.

Bring on the Bears

The Portland State women’s basketball team is on the road and headed for Greeley, Colo., where they take on the Northern Colorado Bears tonight. It will be Portland State’s first conference matchup on the road and the fourth Big Sky game for both teams.

Starting strong

In a game that was not without excitement, the Vikings beat the Lady Griz 49–47 after a nail-biting ending Saturday night to extend their conference record to 3–0.

Women to host Montana’s

The Vikings continue their streak of conference matchups this weekend as they host the Montana State Bobcats and the Montana Lady Griz on Friday and Saturday nights, respectively. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. both nights at the Stott Center.

Victory at home

The power of a home-court advantage and impressive scoring from senior guard Claire Faucher gave the Vikings the edge they needed to earn a much-needed 62-56 victory last night at the Stott over UC Santa Barbara, breaking a five-game losing streak.

The Portland State women’s basketball team, without the leadership of head coach Sherri Murrell and starting junior guard Lexi Bishop, lost to the Boise State Broncos, 92-80, in their first away game on Thursday.
