Speakers Board needs students

Student fees fund Portland State’s Educational Activities Speakers Board, a committee of six representatives from across campus that helps student groups and academic departments bring speakers to campus. However, the board is currently suffering from understaffing and a lack of visibility.

The SALPies are near final

Each year, Student Activities and Leadership Programs hosts its SALPies awards ceremony to honor the hard work of student groups and their leaders. Though nominations are still being accepted, the deadline is this Friday.

Sanskriti

Celebrate the traditions and modernity of India this Saturday at 6 p.m. with the Indian Student Association, which will host Sanskriti—its annual Indian culture night—in the Smith Memorial Student Union Ballroom.

March against sexual assault

Tonight from 6–9 p.m. the Women’s Resource Center and the Portland Women’s Crisis Line will join together in hosting the Take Back the Night and Bike Back the Night events on the Portland State University Park Blocks.

After-hours academia

University Success offers free academic, career and life-skills assistance after-hours when other programs, like Student Health and Counseling and the Tutoring and Learning Center, are closed.

Earth Day festival today

Today, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Students for Leadership in Ecology, Culture and Learning, the Portland State University Environmental Club and the Sustainability Leadership Center are throwing an Earth Day festival in the PSU Park Blocks.
