Career Fair
The 15th Annual Career Fair will be held in the third-floor ballroom of Smith Memorial Student Union. This year, there will be about 70 companies in attendance, some recruiting for immediate job openings and some to giving information about applying in the future.
Students who are interested in filling current positions should be sure to bring along copies of their resumes to hand out to potential employers. Be ready to ask questions of representatives and expect to answer a few as well.
The fair is intended for several types of students: those who are unsure of where they want to be and need a venue to learn about opportunities that exist after graduation as well as those who are actively looking for employment post-graduation. Even if students are not looking for employment at this time, it is a good idea to go and check out the fair so that they know what to expect when they do start looking.
The Career Fair will begin at 11 a.m. and last until 4 p.m., with several special breakout sessions during that time.
The first session will be “International Careers: At Home and Abroad.” This session is intended to meet the needs of students who are interested in international careers. The session, which begins at noon and lasts until 1 p.m., is located in the SMSU, Room 328.
The second session is titled “Careers in Social Services: Make a Living and Make a Difference.” This session will help guide those students interested in fields such as psychology, sociology and other social sciences. This session will begin at 1 p.m. and last until 2 p.m. in the SMSU, Room 329.
The breakout sessions are open to all students and will be followed by a question-and-answer period.
