Students needing to make extra money part-time and get valuable career experience and good references are invited to become part-time security guards, usually working evenings and weekends and then various festivals in summer. The State of Oregon requires security guards to pass a 12-hour course and a criminal background check. The course will be given every Tuesday and Sunday in January 2014. The government fees are $135, and the class fees are $100, for a total of $235.
