Susan Schweik, Associate Dean of Arts and Humanities and a recipient of the Chancellor’s Award for Advancing Institutional Excellence, will be giving a lecture on the Americans with Disabilities Acts and how it pits disability rights against homeless rights in America. The lecture will take a look at Portland specifically, from laws of the past to laws of the present and how people are treated like objects while certain urban objects can be given rights like people.
