Believing in my potential and commitment to serving PSU, I ran for the student body presidency and lost. Despite the results, I remained true and honest to myself and those around me, met many students from all over campus and gained rewarding experiences along the way. Because of all of this, I am walking away as a better person.

Fought a good fight

Believing in my potential and commitment to serving PSU, I ran for the student body presidency and lost. Despite the results, I remained true and honest to myself and those around me, met many students from all over campus and gained rewarding experiences along the way. Because of all of this, I am walking away as a better person.

It is important to me that I thank our slate and supporters for all the hard work and dedication put into the Empowerment Campaign during this year’s student elections. Karla, Rylee and I are extremely honored to work with everyone.

I want to congratulate my colleagues elected into office for next year. I am confident that you will give 110 percent of yourself to serve all PSU students. For those of us who didn’t secure a seat in ASPSU, know that this election had nothing to do with our ability and worth. Please don’t think for one second that you can’t create any change. The reality is we have already been creating change in various capacities and that all of us have a valuable and strong voice. It would be a shame if we stopped using it.

I’m very proud of everyone in the Empowerment Campaign. As a diverse and passionate group of students, we fought a good fight. We were professional and we proved that personal politics stop at the door and that empowering our fellow students was our priority.

As I will continue on here at PSU as a student who will find ways to tirelessly make PSU the best campus for all, I’m honored to know that Empowerment will be represented within ASPSU representing me and working to empower PSU to its maximum potential. I look forward to cheering on the amazing victories I know my colleagues will be winning for students next year and the years to come.

My sincere congratulations go to Hannah, Kyle, Aimeera and the Bridge the Gap campaign. With a mere 1,447 students that voted this year out of 25,000 students, evidently, there is much work to be done. I hope that we can move forward towards our common purpose and I wish you well with your endeavors.

Thank you to everyone that voted and supported the Empowerment Campaign. Your support is invaluable.
