Student information to be released
Students who are also faculty and staff at Portland State University have a deadline for restricting their directory information by 5 p.m. Oct. 10. Each student’s phone number will automatically be published in the Portland State University student directory if that student does not restrict this information. Students must restrict their information every year in order for this restriction to be in effect. In order to restrict directory information, students must complete a written request with the Office of the Registrar. The Office of Student Affairs has more information and may be contacted at 503-725-4422.
Software debuts on campus
During the summer term the Office of Information Technologies (OIT) started two major software updates. One operating system has changed form Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 to Windows 2000 Professional. The second upgrade is Microsoft Office 97 to Microsoft Office XP Professional with Frontpage. The purpose of these upgrades is to keep current with recent technologies. These upgrades will affect what software can be installed in labs and classroom throughout the campus. Prior to using the labs or classrooms that OIT supports, students might want to be certain that their software is certified to work with Windows 2000 Professional. Questions about this upgrade may be directed to http://www.cns.pdx.edu.
