Two candidates for financial aid director to visit PSU Tuesday, Wednesday

Patty Hoban, the former director of financial aid at Willamette University, will visit campus Tuesday with an open session for students to meet her from 2-2:30 p.m. in Smith Memorial Student Union, Room 333.

Phillip Rodgers, the current interim financial aid director at PSU, will have an open session with students on Wednesday, from 2-2:30 in Smith, Room 333. Rodgers became the interim director last summer after former Director Kenneth McGhee left the position in June.

One of Rodgers’ main goals upon starting at PSU was to make the entire financial aid system paperless, allowing students to submit their documents online. Hoban managed a staff about one-fourth the size of the Portland State financial aid staff, and a budget about one-third the size at Willamette.

Hoban has worked in financial aid since 1988, while Rodgers began working in financial aid in 1991.
